Match Report 8-1 Win vs. Thai Team

September 7, 2014

Hi Guys,

Today's match was a rather pleasant surprise for the whole team, I believe. Surprise No. 1 was getting not only a full Compass side (with no help from any Tubbies), but a good side, too. We were missing some key players but the unexpected arrivals of Dave, Ivan and Michael, as well as Caleb, were much appreciated. We also welcomed Cheng Da and Peter--two Chiayi players and friends of Chris and Caleb who apparently want to become a regular part of Compass. This meant that we were blessed with 3 substitutes, much needed in the very humid, hot weather.

Hi Guys,

Although it was even more brutally hot than our last match, Compass came out with a much more complete side today and played as a team to get us back on the winning track.

Match Report 4-0 Loss vs. Thai Team

July 20, 2014

Hi Guys,

Well, it had to end sooner or later, so it was almost appropriate that our first "post-season" match--after celebrating 35 consecutive undefeated games 2 weeks ago--was a loss for Compass.

Besides the fact that we played rather poorly against the Thais, a few other things were against us, starting with the fact that we were missing a huge chunk of our normal midfield and offensive lines. Then there was the terrible heat and only two subs (vs. plenty of Thai subs).

Match Report vs. Taichung Tubbies

July 5, 2014

Hi Guys,

In the midst of all the World Cup matches, it's nice to be able to get out on the pitch and play some 'real-world' football. Such was the case this evening, in our very competitive match against Tubbies. Although we will undoubtedly have more matches in July (perhaps as soon as next weekend), today marked the end of our unofficial "season", which started back on August 24, 2014 with our 7-1 thumping of the Tubbies.

Match Report 3-1 Win vs. Thai Team

Hi Guys,

You always surprise me...and I'm not talking about the players who unexpectedly show up or don't show up. Just when I begin dreading a match, due to the heat, lack of players, tough competition, etc., etc., you fight your way through and get a great victory, like today's.

Hi Compass Men,

I have little doubt that today's glorious victory is one that will raise your happiness levels a few notches this week. It certainly was one of our best in recent memory.

2014 COMPASS International Food & Music Festival

May 22, 2014

Hi Guys,

Don't forget that this Saturday and Sunday (5/24-25) is the 2014 Compass Taichung International Food & Music Festival, taking place 1-9 p.m. on the Art Museum Parkway.

For those of you not familiar with this area, go to the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts' main entrance on Wu Quan West Road (near Mei Cun Rd). Directly across the street, there's a green belt--follow that about 2 blocks south and you'll see our event.

Match Report 10-0 Win vs. Scunners

May 4, 2014

Hi Guys,

Today's match was quite enjoyable, and not just because we won. Compass played some very attractive football that was fun to watch with a lot of great passing, tons of possession and some impressive defensive and offensive action. Scunners also fought very hard, had some good opportunities to score on us, but were put to the sword by our team.

Match Report 1-1 Tie vs. Thai Team

April 27, 2014

Hi Guys,

It looks like we've found another worthy opponent in Taichung. Our match today against the Thai Team was a hard-fought, back-and-forth affair that saw both teams push each other very hard. Despite their largely diminutive statures, the Thai players were--as Chris noted beforehand--well organized, skilled, fast, quick on the ball and very aggressive. They also didn't make that many mistakes or give up many balls.
